Easy Peasy

Transitional clothing into spring (FINALLY!) can make things tricky.  An easy way to solve that tragic dilemma (ok not really but some mornings it can feel that way) is by throwing on a great romper. Now finding the romper that flatters you best is a whole other blog post, but take it into consideration next time you’re out shopping and try a few different styles on. There’s nothing better than getting dressed in one shot and not having to worry about so many layers, pieces, and textures to make you feel like you’re sporting a great look, especially on those days when you feel like time has it out for you.

This piece I found on the sale rack at Anthropologie a few weeks ago. While I’m not sure it’s still in stores this one from Anthropologie and this one from Forever 21 are other great options you might like!

My earrings are The Melanie from Stella & Dot and the length can be altered by simply clipping off pieces. You can even turn them into simple studs. Getting 3 pairs of earrings in one is always a sure way to win me over. Grab yourself a pair by clicking here. My ring is also from Stella & Dot and is the Zinnia. This is a piece I know I will wear lots in the next warm spring and summer months! Click here and get one!

in the bag

I found this Botkier Logan bag at a great little boutique in Edgewater, NJ called Mercat. It was on major sale and it can hold waaaay more than it seems.

Mix ‘n’ match

Learning to not be afraid of mixing patterns and colors has taken me a while. I think my kids are my source of inspiration on that style decision.

Dressed up T with jeans

Chloe (nearly 5) has just started to show interest in picking out her own outfits each morning and I think it’s because she comes up with unique matches that I decide to do the same.  I have to admit that sometimes when a rather abstract selection emerges from her closet, I gently encourage her with other options (Yes, I have a control issue. I’ll work on that)

Stella and Dot bracelets

One of my splurges last fall was on this Helmut Lang bra. It’s not necessarily supportive for those of you with larger chests, but it’s my favorite way to take a basic top and make it even more of a statement. I wear it in the winter with chunky sweaters, blouses, and even shift dresses and in the summer it’s great to layer under tees, and sheer tanks. I’m sure you’ll see it in many future posts. I strongly recommend adding it to your wardrobe.
