everything’s gonna be “p”ine

Happy first day of SPRING!!! While I’m not yet prepared to pack up my winter coat since we’re supposed to get more snow today, I thought it was fitting to share my new favorite tee from Target that I plan to eventually rock with white jeans and sandals when the sky decides to stop snowing. Want it? Grab it here!

balancing act

Now for these jeans- one of my FAVORITE denim brands is Blank NYC. These are super comfortable, easy to “dress up” with a great pair of heels (I have my eyes on these), or dress down with flats and a plain tee. The best part about them is that I WON THEM!!! I haven’t won anything recently besides an intense game of UNO with my kiddos- so when BLANK NYC contacted me to let me know that I had won a $500.00 shopping spree with their New Year- New You Facebook contest, I was giddy. I filled up my shopping cart with 3 pairs of jeans and two tops before finally pushing the “place order” button, (yes, that’s a lot of stuff for 500.00!!) and I can’t decide which piece is my favorite. Stay tuned for more posts with my winning pieces. I bet you will want to add them to your closet too! In the meantime, grab yourself a pair of these “torn to shreds” boyfriend jeans here.

My necklace is the silver Rebel Pendant from Stella and Dot. It’s my go to necklace, and adds a bit of edge and polish to any look. It comes in three different metal tones too! Click here to get yours!

My beanie (it comes in different colors, click here!) and sunglasses are from Target. I love being able to add in affordable accessories that always seem to make a look complete.

My booties are the “Harrow” from Rag and Bone and I plan to wear them until I’m 72- I love them that much. My blazer is an oldie from BCBG and it’s one of those pieces that has been worn to so many “good moments” in my life that I sometimes feel like it’s my good luck charm. Do you have one of those in your closet? Here’s to an amazing spring, whenever it decides to show up, and as always thanks for stopping by! xo, Elana

Past and present

Sometimes you can put together a look from old and new pieces in your closet and it looks like you bought everything at the same time. For me, this is one of those outfits. We walked over to the newly renovated Anthony David’s, one of my favorite restaurants in Hoboken, to showcase these pieces. They have added a fabulous community table in the back of the restaurant that is perfect for a large dinner party, so now I’m dreaming up an excuse to satiate my craving for their scallops entree which never disappoints.

My coat holds a lot of sentimental value. Before Chloe and Ethan were born, I worked at a company called COCKPIT USA. They specialize in leather and textile outerwear and produce many of their styles in the USA. They pride themselves on replicating pieces from aviation and American Heritage and also make jackets for the US Air Force and Navy. Many celebrities, and even US Presidents have worn their designs, and while I was working there, I was fortunate to add this insane piece to my closet. This jacket is called the Amelia, and was inspired by yes, you guessed it, Amelia Earhart.

shooties!

These shoes I spotted on Natalie, who works at the Anthropologie on Washington Street here in Hoboken. I managed to grab them on sale before they sold out in this color, but here, and here, are similar styles that you might like. (all on sale for an extra 25% off!)

My hat is also an Anthropologie purchase and is available in many different colors in stores. I found this hair clip on the same shopping trip and thought it would make a great accent to the hat.

My necklace is the Sutton by Stella and Dot that I have worn many times on this blog. My ring is an opal stone all the way from Australia that my sister-in-law’s stepfather, Rock, gave me years ago. Soon after that visit to OZ we were pregnant with Chloe, and it just so happened that her birthstone was an Opal. James had this ring set and designed for me at W Kodak Jewelers here in Hoboken for Mother’s day. My bracelets were a gift from one of my best friends and her boyfriend on a trip to Pakistan.

sparkles and pleats

My top is also from Anthropologie and like most of their great sale pieces is sold out, but here’s another style you might like.

My pants were a Peper and Parlor purchase (another great boutique here in Hoboken) last year, but here’s a style that’s similar.

My vest at Neiman Marcus Last Call, I’ve also shown in earlier posts, is on MAJOR sale right now!
